25no. residential dwellings were designed for Fernham Homes in the village of Newington, located near Sittingbourne. The scheme is located on a contentious greenfield site, bordering the quiet village and school, with the additional constraints of ecological protections.

Multiple iterations were designed and co-ordinated by gdm following consultation with key stakeholders, the local parish and planning authorities.

A sympathetic development emerged, with generous greenspace and the use of local materials to create distinctively Kentish residential architecture. The proposal also provides a much-needed drop off and parking area for the local school.
