78 homes will be constructed on a 2.5ha former driving range in Herne Bay. A variety of house types are being provided on site including terraced, semi-detached and detached dwellings. 30% of the new homes have been allocated as affordable.
Throughout the design, consideration has been given to adjacent residential properties as well as a pedestrian connection to greenspace at the back of the site.
The site has an existing tree belt running through the centre of the site, which is being retained as much as possible and positively incorporated. Breaks in the tree belt are limited as far as possible, whilst maintaining access to all properties. Further greenspace is also being incorporated within the site boundary, including a green buffer and SUDS pond to the front of the site.
A new pedestrian path along the site frontage will be developed that will complete the footpath connection along this part of Bullockstone Road providing a safe pedestrian connection to an adjacent development.
The site will meet new building regulations and the homes will benefit from a fabric first approach, PV panels, heat recovery measures and electric charging points.
